Examining translation in Norway – perspectives and issues
Norway in Translation (NiT) is an initiative of the Agder Forum for Translation Studies (AFO), a research group affiliated with the University of Agder (UiA). AFO’s members are actively engaged in producing expert knowledge on translation with a view to inform policy-making and industry practices in Norway.
Our research is based on various theoretical frameworks and covers a broad range of themes (see more here). Through our involvement in the delivery of UiA’s MA in Translation and Professional Communication, the first dedicated postgraduate program on translation in the country, we play an active role in training the next generation of translators in Norway. We are therefore well-positioned to liaise and forge synergies between translation academics and practitioners.
Norway in Translation aims to bring together scholars and stakeholders who are committed to advancing translation practices and to reinvigorating current theoretical debates. Not least, our mission is to give voice to professionals in the translation industry.
